My initial thought is a young American male (early 20s) with a standard accent (Midwest/West Coast type). Thoughts? Comment below.

As our hero in training is a military brat the accent should be neutral with a tiny hint of southern.

I can strongly recommend Nathan Lowell’s narrator, Tom Taylorson. Listen to the Audible version of Lowell’s The Wizard’s Butler, and you will hear what I mean. Also, Jeffrey Kafer, Ray Porter, and Christopher Lane, all of whom have great voices for multiple character stories.
